A few years ago, I claimed a Delay Repay on Northern Rail, opting for the free ticket.
It turned out to be a SINGLE between 2 stations on the Northern Rail network. And
was only valid on Northern Rail services.
This got me thinking-
It was Scarborough to Whitby.
It’s half an hour in the car.
50 minutes on the bus.
If you travel by Transpennine Express and Northern Rail, it’s 4.5 hours and 3 trains.
But I had to do it entirely on Northern Rail.
The shortest route is Scarborough-
It takes 6 trains, and over 13 hours.
